The SCFPUD Board of Directors meet once per month, typically on the 2nd Tuesday at 12:15 PM, although this can change depending on the availability of Board members and is sometimes changed. The address for the meeting is 2727 Allen Parkway, Houston, TX 77019.
Board meetings fall under the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code. All residents wishing to attend the meeting, or who have business with the Board, have a standing invitation to attend.
For a resident who wishes to conduct official business with the Board, you must request inclusion of your topic and have it added to the agenda, prior to the agenda being published. Because of the immense importance of water and sewage to the general public, the State of Texas highly regulates the operation of public utility districts, like SCFPUD. As a result, there are considerable rules governing the manner in which districts must operate. In fact, your Directors are elected members of government, recognized by the State of Texas. If you plan to attend regular meetings of the SCFPUD, we recommend you read Texas Water Districts, A General Guide published by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
You should also note that the SCFPUD can convene an “executive session” at any board meeting to discuss items without the general public in attendance. While not done routinely, there are matters from time to time where this procedure is invoked. The ability to perform this measure is legal and regulated within the Open Meetings Act referenced above.
